I was wondering anyone had any information on the demolition of the beach front bars?
I booked for 2010 as i loved thears @the beach front this year and now i hear some have been destroyed? will they be re-opened for summer season 2010?
i did not enjoy bar street and specifically bookd to be near the beach. also does anyone knowhow many bars have bee destroyed?

Reading other forums,no one wants to rebuild on the front at long beach in Marmaris,because of the music licence stating that they will have to finish around 11.30 to 1.am,they have another meeting with the mayor in the new year over this,but not looking good 
As for icmeler it looks like the beachfront is going to be paved where they demolished the bars,maybe with a fountain or something similar!,we will have to wait and see

Does anyone know id they are rebuilding in marmaris? I have booked for next year but dont fancy returning if there are no beach front bars as i dont like bar street.

Hello guys... does anybody know if the george and dragon, and also triannas is still there? hope so they serve great food there!
also hope they are not knocking all the kareoke bars down... dont know what i would do with my kids if they have...haha
I would just like to add that i feel sorry for the staff who have worked many years in theses bars/restaurants... if they are not being re-built, then they will lose their jobs...

if i read this right a spanish style walkway it being constructed from side along the beach and hotels are losing private beachfronts..
anyone know any more info on this..

I really hope not, a giant walkway doesn't sound too good. Espeically one that length. Will try and find out more.
Wow ... didn't quite realise the scale of the demolition, looks like something out of a disaster movie, all my favourate restaurants too !! I remember when Uno Momento re-located about 3 years ago and it wasn't as easy to get to. I know they can rebuild very quickly in Turkey and services will all be still in place so hope they can get something done soon.

Just watched video - I knew it was bad just not that bad !!! Looking at where Captains Bar used to be made me very sad - made lots of friends their over the years - not just staff but people who holidayed there same time as we did year after year - just won't be the same unless they rebuild - but looks like a lot of work to get done in a few months

Does anyone know if they have done the same in Icmeler,I heard rumours that cocoa beach had been demolished.We have been going there for a few years,staying in the efendi and would hate to think any place has been pulled down along the front.

Hi, we booked to return to marmaris this june as we loved it last year. Now I hear that most of the beachfront bars and restaurants have been demolished! I have seen the video on youtube and it looks pretty bad, but I was just wondering exactly how much of it has been torn down? What percentage of restaurants/bars in that area have survived? Can they possibly make this place presentable by the time tourists arrive? Any info would be appreciated.
The main parts that appear to be knocked down are along the front. Dont worry there are literally hundreds of bars and restaurants in Marmaris, plenty of choice from traditional, chinese, indian, english and so on. Plenty of lively bars and plenty of quiet bars. All work in the resorts usually stops in April and this area will have been cleaned up well before then

I hope they dont leave it like when they knocked down Daisy Bar about 5 years ago!!thats been left as waste ground with a fence around it ever since then.I have to say that we loved to walk along this area in the evening and have a meal.When they knocked Apollon restaurant and bar a few years ago they paved the area and put a fountain there,who thought of that,your feet get soaked when you walk past

Apparently the Baran bar has comfirmed it will rebuild. I hope this is true! wish they would all just be allowed to rebuild and open till 3-4.
