I got some bags with pressable closure. They are made by Baco Foil. The small ones are slightly under the 20x20cms but I managed to get everything I wanted in one. Travel size hand cream, Olbas Oil, Bonjela, deoderant and fresh breath spray. there is a smal area covered by the logo and the space to write contents on but it wasn't a problem at either Dublin or Stansted. What I've done both times I've flown since November is to present the bag with the completely clear side facing upwards.

Does anyone know where you can buy the resealable plastic bags that are required by the airports, I understand that they have to be 8in x 8in
Thank you

I see by your profile you are from London so the chances are you are flying from one of the London Airports. I have flown from Gatwick and Stansted and they hand the bags out at security.

Hope this helps

Mary,

I bought mine from Tesco in their sandwich bag/foil/cling film section. I bought their own brand small resealable (with the plastic strip along the top and not the sticky bit along the top) food bags in a plastic envelope and not in a box. I think they were about £1.25 for 25.

I think that most supermarkets sell them in any case.

Sheila.

Im using one of those bags that you can squeeze the air out of, its the smallest one in a bag of 3 from Matalan, and it probably 1cm bigger length wise, so Im not going to worry about it being the wrong size, unless of course they decide to measure the bags at security!

They were also handing them out at Manchester when we flew to Ibiza a fortnight ago.

Manchester did hand them out - I was really good with all my liquid things, but never realised that mascara had to go in! - the security people were really good.

I've recently flown from Blackpool, and my sister had about 4 lip glosses that she'd forgot about, and Blackpool charged her 10p for the bag!

Am i right in saying you still cant take a small lip-sized tub of vaseline onto a flight in the clear bag? They took mine off me last time i flew to Florida. Could i buy one once i get through the gates? I get really dry skin on flights.

When I went away in February, I put a tin (smallest you can buy) of vaseline in my clear bag together with a lip balm and I didn't have either of them taken off me.

Perhaps it would be best to check the airport's website just in case.

If there is a boots in the departure lounge of the airport you are flying from, they will have small tins or pots of vaseline.

To confirm what I have posted on Gatwick site. There are many people in yellow tops with the words "Can I Help" they are handing out the bags free of charge all over the airport. Tonyt.

That's right Tony, and if there are a few of you in the party get a couple each and this will suffice for your next few trips without having to worry where you are going to get the right size bag from

At Cardiff airport in May I got a bag from the customer service desk.

When I went through Stansted a couple of weeks ago there were big tubs of plastic bags everywhere, with notices telling passengers to help themselves.
