Here's a photo I took on July 17th to give you an idea where the work has got to....

Would be surprised if it was completed before September....
cheers

One small section still closed off as they finish clearing the final bits of rubble , however, after all the complaints about it being closed there were only half a dozen people on it yesterday (Thursday 12th) but it was around 110 degrees!
Just need to get some extra sand delivered for the beach now. At least the main work is done.
Thats good news, about five families in our party going middle of November.
Has the extra sand arrived yet at Playa Flamingo? Such a shame if after all the waiting and work done they cannot afford to get some more sand!!
I don't think anything has changed yet, Hopefully the sand is being sorted but I have not heard any date mentioned so far. Will require a lot so not even sure where it will come from....
Any updates on the beach would be welcomed.
me, my wife and 2 kids (6 & 3) are going on 19th Oct for a week.
we went to the original HV in Lanzarote and had a fab time so hoping for more of the same.
Apparently a lot of the rocks have been removed from the beach and sand is arriving daily.
We were there last week and the beach looks finished, plenty of sand and it looks nice and inviting perfect for the kids.
Anyone got an update on the beach? We are due to return for the third year running in July/August 2011 and are hoping the beach is fully operational this year.
The beach was finished Sept/Oct last year.
Thanks very much for the update. Can't wait for July!!
The sand is staying better than it did before the new breakwater but it's still been washed away at one end of the beach.
Still nice though.
The cubes were there when we were there last year - I assumed they were going to do something with them to make the breakwaters look better. I was obviously wrong. Great to hear that the beach is open though. Thanks for the update. Glyn
