I made on the 27/05/2008 at United Co-operative group travel shop
I visited the shop regarding a holiday booking, I asked for a priceto a holiday to Kos in May 2009, with a quote for the 14th may 2009, to kos staying at the blue lagoon . I revisited the shop later that afternoon and i spoke to the same operator and explained I was not able to go in May as my son had SATS and I had a biology exam sometime that week, so I asked them to price me a holiday for the 18th June, ***** did this and I decided that the holiday would be right for me, as the accommodation was the same, and the flight times and departure airport was the same.the agent said they didn't have time to give me the booking form there and then as someone was waiting for her to have a meeting so if I paid the deposit of 153 pounds then the booking details would be sent by post. I stated that I was not really happy with this as I wanted her to clarify all the details there but she stated that prices can change and just to pay the deposit, I was not offered any insurance at the time of the booking. I paid the deposit on my debit card and I left with only a printed receipt of this.
I visited the shop again later that day to ask for the booking form but this was not available.
The booking form arrived on the 2nd of June 2008 and the details on the booking were for the 14th May 2009, to which I thought I had booked to go on the 18th June 2009. I did not sign the booking form as I do not agree with the booking. The booking form also states that it was a telephone booking this was not the case.
I telephoned the branch on the 3rd of June 2008 explaining the mistake, and was told I would have to rebook the holiday and loose my deposit as it was my mistake. I disagree with this.
I revisited the Branch again on the 3rd of June and asked f I could have a refund as I had not signed the booking contract and the holiday on the contract was not the holiday I verbally agreed to, she said I could not have a refund but I could pay 1329 for the holiday in June and they would try and waver the 25 pounds per person fee, the original holiday in June was price matched with Thomas cook.com for 1197 pounds. I said I was not happy to pay this and that I wanted a refund but the operator stated that I had entered into a verbal contract and theres nothing I could do, I then left the shop.where do i stand legallyDear
