just noticed they are up for sale now for october
So many places, so few holidays.
We booked some cheap ryan air flights last year Chris and went for a few days. Just long enough to give the kids their Port Aventura fix
We're going to Hotel Portaventura in June again. My DS loves it and when he's happy it makes our holiday easier.

So many places, so few holidays. ;)
We are off to Hotel El Paso 21st April, good deals from first choice. In May the prices double
I went with them in 2005 and 2007 to the El Paso. They were fine, in particular in 2007 I got a brilliant deal with them (well Eclipse as they used to be called), cheaper than 2005. Think is is very much the luck of the draw. I logged on to the site eveyday for a week or so and one day the price just plummeted by 500 quid so I booked. This was for Aug/Sept though.
Don't know if you have been before, but either way I am sure you will have a great time.
We have been searching for our perfect 1st holiday for nearly 1 month now, albeit has taken most of that time to find travel insurance for our 3 year old as she has brain stem cancer
For the reason above we wanted to take her away on her 1st holiday - she is so excited about flying and hsnt shut up about it for weeks
We are really stuck as to where to take her. we have thought about the following
Portugal - Alberferia
Majorca
Costa del Sol - Hotel Polynesia
Costa Dorada - Holiday Village
We had more or less settled on the Hotel Polynesia and loved the look of it, we have however had thought today of it looks like it is all water based entertainment for her - not sure if this is true or not
We have now swung back towards the Port Aventura resort and particulary the Port Aventura or Carbibre Hotels as we understand that entrance to the water/theme park is included
I suppose our questions are
1 What have been your experiences of it with a 3 or 4 year old
2 Who did you book with
3 Which Hotel would you recommend
4 What is ther to do in the water/theme park
Thanks for taking the tim to read/reply to this
If you choose the Port Aventura hotel you will be right by the park, so will be very convenient to pop back to the hotel for a break. The Caribe hotel is a bit of a walk or you have to wait for the land train (the El Paso slightly closer).
I believe if you stay in the Port Aventura hotel or Caribe you have access to the Beach Club during the summer, handy for days by the beach.
I think my children were 18mths and 5 when we first took them and there are rides for smaller children along with the big rides. There are also small slides etc next door at the water park.
Have you looked on the P.A. website for descriptions of rides etc.
Good luck on deciding
Just to add a little to starry's post. All three hotels seem good but you definately need the main Port Aventura hotel if you wish to get direct access to the theme park as there is a gate from the hotel grounds into the Park.
The other thing I was going to mention is that you get unlimited access to the theme park with your room card, but for the water park you will only get one day of access during the summer months. Although with access to the Beach Club this will probably prove enough.
The beach club is nice, but it isn't a water park as such, it just has 6 or 7 private swimming pools some of which are shallow so suitable for little children and then you can exit the beach club and get access to a sandy beach. As you leave the beach club they put a wristband on you, so that you can return in to the club after you have been on the beach. It also has a restaurant and snack bar and shop.
We went with what is now First Choice on an internet booking, but loads of companys do Port Aventura and its hotels, so if this is the one you pick, shop around as it can be expensive.
i was under the impression the beach club wasnt open until end May?
So would you folks recommend the area/hotels?
what is the beach, if any like?

could not find the reply thingy
Yup been a couple of years back......to the park that is, the missus isn't usually a fan of theme parks but she loved this one. Not been to one of their hotels before but have spoken to a few that have and they all loved em. Salou 5 minutes away, so we know what we are in for and all in all, it seems right up our street
Thinking of spending a week here over Easter. Does anyone know what time the park is open over the Easter weekend? Will the indoor section of the water park be open? Does the park get busy over Easter? Do the hotels have kids entertainment on in the evening?
We have stayed at El Paso before in October nearly 5 years ago and had a great time as we had fab weather. I hear its quite rainy in April, will the rides close if it rains?
Thanks
I can answer a couple of your questions, we have been for easter for the last 2 years, there certainly is an increase in people over the easter holidays, last year i remember was quite busy, there was lots of french people for some reason as apparantly they has all been offered cheap holidays. This means that queues where a bit longer than normal but nothing to bad. The weather can be very nice and then can be a bit cold, some days the parks bigger rides were shut because of the wind. Still a good time to go though. we are going just after easter this year.
Just had a letter from First choice. The El Paso is not opening till later so we have been upgraded to the Caribe
I would read the reviews and if you are not happy with them, you could always be cheeky and ask them to upgrade you to the Port Aventura hotel, next door to the park. At the end of the day they can only say no.
I think that would be more of an upgrade than the Caribe. Obviously this is just my personal opinion though and if you are happy with the Caribe so be it. I'm sure you will have a great time wherever you stay.

Edit. Opps ! just realised you have been before. but will leave info up incase it helps someone else.
Great deals in Thomsons Hotels only. In June 7 nights Half Board, entrance to theme park, beach club etc, for up to 4 people coming in at £1100 approx for the room in any of the 3 Hotels. If you can get cheap flights like I did, Ryanair for 4 people from Liverpool £257 for all including baggage etc. Most other sites these hotels are about £2000 and if you book it as a normal Thomson holiday it is £2548. This is based on 4 people all counted as adults as kids are over 12. Hope someone can make use of this. Oh and for anyone who uses quidco, there is 5% discount on accommodation.. Just remember to go through quidco first. Karen
We are going in July and staying at the Golden Port Salou. What is the best way to get to Portaventura?
Just remembered discount code for 5% off. Enter PASS FOR PASS TICKETS, PLUS FOR PLUS TICKETS OR MAX FOR MAX TICKETS. Link to website: http://www.attractiontix.co.uk/port-aventura.asp# Enter code after you select No of tickets on next page
