Can anyone let me know what Port des Torres is like as a resort, since we are looking at going there and have found a couple of places for accommodation that seem ideal, but can't find any real info about the resort itself. We are a family of 4 with 2 girls aged 6 & 8 and prefer quieter places but without them being dead or isolated, and enough bars and restaurants and some things to do in and around the area, as we sometimes go for a walk in the morning after breakfast or in the evening after tea. Any info would be useful - beaches, restaurants, area generally, etc.
Thx

Hi, we went there 3 yrs ago on cheap deal to the Seaview Country Club. The apartment complex was good and lovely pool, but wouldnt recommend the resort itself really. We were self catering but as there were no restaurants or bars around the hotel we had to to go half board. We still had a great holiday as grandparents joined us and had very good weather first week in October. The beach was ok but remember searching desperately for a shop for buckets/spade etc! You could catch a bus or walk to the town, I remember we found a mini funfair place with a bar attached, but we had a 3 year old then so looking at different things! Hope this helps, sorry it wasnt really a walking around resort where we stayed but could be different if you are more central, and may have changed since, so have a look for some other reports; also there could be more open in high season.
Far enough away from the noise etc but close enough if you want to get involved. The resort centre is about a 10 minute walk from the Seaview (if thats where you're thinking of - we stayed there and loved it, we're going back next year) and then San An Bay is a further 10 mins past that.
Theres "enough" to do in Port Des Torrent, bars and restaurants etc etc. The beach is small but big enough for the resort, there was a big problem with jellyfish last year though, not sure what its like now but they were putting nets up as we left last year.
