Portofino Bay Resort Hotel - Univeral Orlando

Hi

Just wondering has anyone stayed in the Portofino Bay hotel in Orlando recently ? This is one of the Universal Studios 'on-site' hotels, we are thinking of going to Florida this year and was wondering if to spend a few days in this resort, with one of the attractions being the front of line access your room key gives you in the theme park.

Has anybody done this, ie stayed for a few days at a universal hotel at the begining of their holiday to use this perk ?

We did two weeks at the Royal Pacific in oct 2006. It was worth the money to go to the front of the lines. Also you can catch a boat to the parks and this is free as well.

Thank -you. I had considered the Royal Pacific as well. The last time we went we ate in a really beautiful restaurant in the Royal Pacific lovely food, and superb service, cant remember the name of it though. :oops:

I like the idea of the boats to the parcs too. :tup

I stayed at the Royal Pacific last year and going back in May.... it is the business.

I booked through virgin last year but did it independently this year.... if it hadnt been for the dollar slide (havent paid for the hotel yet) it would have been about £1.5k cheaper.

Anyway look at tripadvisor.com for reviews (including mine) - we loved it, ideal for families, portofino probably better for couples.

queue jumping was quality !!

tchoup choup by the way...

book thru loews website - they own all 3 hotels, join their vip club and youll get upgraded to a bigger room
