off to the Sol e Mar in albufeira on the 1st june for 4 days, never stayed at the hotel before.
the beach view looks great and the reports look good, cannot wait
Must admit, the photos posted with views from the Sol e Mar room got me thinking and I booked a holiday (not the Sol e Mar) a few days later. Just had to.
I stayed at the Dom Jose in quarteria last march and the view from my hotel room out onto the sea was wonderful as i hope will be the case on the sol e mar.
One week today, we'll be there..........
Hi Pat case packed and ready to go, we fly 15.00 tomorrow, sat here practising on the vinho tinto ready for tomorrow night. Hope you have a lovely holiday. Take care Jayjan
Have a great holiday and remember to leave some tinto for me when I get there
Can't believe you only started practising on the tinto tonight......I've been practising all year....
Pity we're not near each other or we could meet up......are you there for 2 weeks?
Pat
6 days for me. I hope the weather forecast is wrong.
Not seen the forecast, Bertie.......what is it?
Rain forecast for tuesday, well a 30% chance. Better clear by next saturday or I'll have to stay in the pub According to this site anyway......
http://www.weather.co.uk it's showers Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
I'm sure they will be wrong though, and we'll get wall to wall sunshine.
Accordding to I'm sure they will be wrong though, and we'll get wall to wall sunshine.
Hi Pat we are there till the 27th May, just hope the weather keeps hot, forcast says there will be some rain midweek. Cheers Jayjan
glynnbuk the view from the Sol e Mar are what makes the hotel. Check the bread at breakfast though - we found some mouldy slices in the basket.
Kind of reflects what a few people have said about the Sol e Mar. They sell it on the view, so don't feel they have to work so hard in other areas. Many better and more attentive hotels in town, and you have to think, how long do you actually spend gazing out of the window...
We were on B&B and I'd certainly suggest anyone booking there to do the same. We did go in one night for evening meal and again it was just average.
The dining room is quite cramped around the area where you choose your food.
The hotel is, however, clean. Pity they don't do room only to be honest as there are lots of nice places to eat within a short walk from the hotel.
We also did get quite a bit of gossip from a lady who holidays there for 4 months every year and knows the staff well (even being invited to their homes and celebrations etc) that there was some issue with management and staff not getting their wages on time.
a lot of time gazing out of windows or from terraces sipping a cooling drink admiring views, particularly sea views, on holiday. And I don't think it's just a girl thing, Perry, because my hubbie feels the same - he's more than happy to gaze at sea views and sunsets ........ but he's not so keen on sunrises, so I do that on my own!
I quite agree, Glynis! Location, location, location!! I spend
I wish everybody would shut up about sunrises, sunsets and sea views. Some of us aren't going til September !!
Tough! We're going in four weeks ... tee hee hee!
Sorry to rub it in, Sagres. Sunrise, sunset, da dee, da dee da .........
And just reminding you Sagres also, of our view from the apartment we'll be at in 5 weeks time..........ring any bells??
..........ring any bells??
....... I could tell you the names of the boats !!!!!
and Rosemary, you might have run those through the Photoshop and got rid of the clouds !!
