We have a holiday booked to commence on May 9th and because of a health problem there is a chance we may have to cancel.
I have never had to claim on Insurance before and would welcome advice on which order I should proceed if it does become necessary. I have booked hotels with Travel Republic and Flights with First choice.
Whilst talking to my GP I asked if he will give me a Doctors letter if we have to cancel and he told me there is a form which I can get from the Travel agent, but as I havent used a TA where would I get this form? Can anyone advise please?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Sue
When this has happened to me I've got intouch with my travel insurance company who sent a form out for completion.
Lincolnsue, Sorry to hear that you might have to cancel your holiday. Your first call should be your insurance company and go from there. I too might not get on my holiday, but I know that my insurance company won't pay up because of my father's pre existing condition but I am leaving my decision to nearer the time CBG
I am keeping my fingers crossed that I won't need to cancel. My GP has managed to get me in to see a Consultant on Tuesday and a decision will be made after that.
Hope your cancellation won't prove necessary either CBG.
Thanks
Sue
My GP only contacted the hospital last week so I must be thankful to have got such quick attention.

I hope things work out ok for you. Its good that you were seen so quickly and hopefully you can rebook your holiday at a later date.
Wishing you good luck with the tests Sue - they are far more important
Much more important to get things sorted out and then hopefully rebook as soon as practical.

Lincolnsue, I am pleased you are getting the earliest attention, but sorry your holiday has to be cancelled. My Dad has decided to have no more chemo so I have to respect his wishes and support him so my holiday on hold til just a few days before. Please keep in touch and I will be thinking of you. CBG
Let us know how you go on Sue, as others have said it's a shame about the holiday but it's good that you are getting attention so quickly.
Many thanks to you all for your good wishes.
I just thought I'd post an update on this thread ( although I have also done this elsewhere)
I have still not got an Insurance settlement (They have a huge backlog of claims!) but that is least of my worries as my results are all in and the outcome is that I am going in hospital this week to have part of my bowel removed. It has all been dealt with quickly, so we are trying to stay positive.
regards Sue
Best of luck Sue, we have all our fingers crossed for a positive outcome.
