Hi all,
An interesting thread started by someone who had an unfortunate experience and shared the issue with us. I personally think it would have come across better if the experience was explained first before the question about ID was raised. No matter, it has given us all food for thought and would hope that everyone respects the fact that posts such as this add to the variety of topics covered on the Turkey forum in particular.

Hi,
Bluepeter your interest is Ornithology maybe this is why you were asked for id (looking to closely at the TURKISH birds)lol.
I really dont understand some of the comments and arguements about this post . Some people still refuse to believe that the law states in turkey you must have photographic ID the foreign office web site states it quite clearly, and verified it in an email to me .So what is the problem .This forum is all about giving and recieving advice .And that is what i did gave advice .I have had pms from people who refuse to believe that this is the law ,and they keep argueing with me that it only applies to turkish people. I will say once again from now on i will carry ID .And it is up to each individual whether they do or not.I do not see the problem with carrying a small piece of paper in your wallet if it is going to benifit you .
Peter it's not that people dont believe your correct in this, It's just situations people have been in, Fact you have prooved to us all that you are correct in your Post and have made all of us aware of this fact, Then we only have ourselves to blame if we are asked for Id.
Thanks rwb46
