Went a few years agoin late September. It was hot during the day but a little chilly at night. We found it very quiet. Hired a car to get about in, roads were very quiet.

Not long returned from Hanioti in Halkidiki and we took a cab into Kriopigi one evening (about 10/15 minutes) to try a taverna i'd read about on the net, before dining we thought we'd stroll down to the beach but gave up after about 10 minutes because from the main road down to the beach was a very, very steep hill and although going down past lots of apartments wasn't a problem we thought that attempting to climb back up might be, i do remember seeing the Kassandra Bay htl but can't remember exactly where i think it was on the beachside of road as you drive towards Thessaloiki but i'm not certain. Kriopigi is a very small resort but there are larger resorts in the vicinity that are easily accessable by bus/cab/hire car if you feel the need.

sounds like it will be the quiet resort we are looking for, not too worried about a beach, and as i drive over 2500 miles a week here i wont be hiring a car [much prefer to take the chance of a few Mythos and Metaxa]and have the odd coach or bus trip out to a few sights
