Palma Nova and Magaluf are not just for the party animals. There is loads to do and see in the South. Most hotels cater for families and if you research using the hotel reviews you will find which ones to steer clear of because they attract the young and which ones are good for families. If you have a hotel in mind I'm sure if you ask on here someone will tell you their honest opinion of it. The beaches are brilliant, maybe not as pretty as the beaches in Alcudia but lovely, clean beaches none the less that shelve gently into the Med. There is the must see Pirates show, Western Water Park (which is great fun), Fantasia in Palma Nova, Marineland, Aquacity to name just a few and the newly opened House of Katmandu. Couple that with family friendly bars offering good entertainment and you can't go wrong. Have holidayed in both resorts and had great holidays in both but Magaluf has the edge because it's closer to everything and there is a good mix of tourists. No matter where you are in Palma Nova/Magaluf you are not far from anywhere but if you pick your hotel wisely you will not be bothered by the nightclub crowd. 8)

Santa Ponsa is close to Palma Nova, nice beach and family friendly. If you want to be a bit further away Cala Bona would be perfect.
