The Algarve weather in December can be variable but still a lot warmer than the UK. Last year we spent Christmas in Vilamoura and it was blue sky and sun every day, chilly in the evenings. The year before it wasn't so good. Always good to get away in the winter though

We have visited the Algarve in the winter months and had a variety of weather. The evenings/nights are chilly though.

I would suggest that you go for a hotel rather than an apartment unless you can guarantee that the apartment has good heating which you will probably need.

I second what Pippa says, it is warm enough during the day, but very cold indoors at night.
