Imported drinks such as Smirnov, Barcardi, real Scotch etc are expensive, expect to pay £4ish a shot. Locally distilled shorts , vodka, gin and whiskey will be about £2.5 a large(ish) shot. I have known spirits to be watered down there too!

Thanks Phil that's what I thought. Do you think it will be even worse for the alcopops type thing i.e. Smirnoff Ice and WKD etc that come by the bottle. Also any idea what bottles of imported lager etc cost. It's just that he can be a little detrmined shall we say and I want to forewarn him that it's not on if he's going to cost us a fortune

If you drink beer it will be a cheep holiday, or you could always buy a couple of bottles at your local airport and fill a small empty water bottle before you go out in the evening. Cheating I know, but you would save a fortune.

Stick to the beer jackie ,you would need a bank loan to drink imported alcohol for a fortnight out there .
