Hi Eifion! - Don't know about the Tequila but I'm sure you'll find somewhere to watch it. You'll have to have a good look round beforehand. See you there - only 9 more sleeps except I spend most of the night awake I'm soooooo! excited. :glynis

We were there in May and got to see the FA Cup final in the tequilas sports bar, kicked off at 0900am in Mexico so it was quite strange drinking beer so early in the morning!!, dont know if they can get the rugby though, lots of bars in Playa del Carmen show lots of American sports so Im sure if its on a channel they can get they will show it, have a great holiday.

Where exactly in the Tequila is the sports bar? - I don't think there was one there when we stayed a couple of years ago.

Thanks for that, the men will be well pleased. It wasn't there in 05. The computers were in a tiny room just round the corner from the reception desk. Only 8 days to go - can't wait. :sun

Hi Tracey. Hope you have a great time at the Tequila. We really enjoyed our holiday there 6 weeks ago (gosh , it seems like ages ago). With regards to the snack bar - after the restaurant closes in the evening there is only one place you can get something to eat and that's the sports bar which is open 24 hrs. The snack choice is limited but I'd say adequate to just grab something before heading off to bed. The choice is fresh fruit, pizza, ready made sandwiches (choice of about 2/3 fillings), burger, hot dog- all of which are kept in the fridge, ready for you to microwave (micro placed next to fridge). There was also a dispenser with Nachos where you could help yourself. Whilst we were there these were all topped up regularly. Have a fab hol!

Anyone been there in October? All the reviews are wonderful and I think I know what's included in the All Inclusive...... the prices are really good for October I wonder if I'm missing something..... maybe it'll be deserted except for us?
Thinking of booking :)

Hi Emdia.
Book it! You won't be disapointed. I think there will be plenty of people there. The prices are excellent throughout the year. We had a fortnight there in August for just £1200 each, flying from our local airport. Won't beat this holiday for quality and price. Have a great time.

We arrived back from the Tequilla on Wednesday morning and are already thinking of booking next year.
While we were there we had a look at 2 of the other Riu's,the (Yucatan & the Playacar) both looked ok, but the Yucatan seemed very quiet compared to the Tequilla which seemed reasonably busy.
Apart from the fact it's not on the beach (as the Yucatan & the Playacar are)
we much preferred the layout of the Tequilla.

OK thanks- they have some really good prices at the moment.
Re all inclusive- does that mean you can just pour/mix your own in your room- it states that 'optics' are in your fridge- and that all alcohol is included? Plus drinks at any of the bars? Soft drinks?
Reply
Yes Emdia.
As much alcohol and soft drinks as you can devour. You have 4 spirits in the room optics which are re-filled every other day if necessary. What's in them varies from room to room. we were 3 couples and between our rooms we had the choice of Rum, vodka, gin, tequila and Brandy. The optics are in a cabinet above the fridge where the mixers, beers and soft drinks are. We had tonic, ginger beer, lemonade, beer and coke.
If you require to change one of the optics for something else just leave a note with a $ tip close to the optics and they will oblige you.

Wow- I love Mexico.... :D

HI again,
You will Love Mexico, I agree. With regards to the drinks in the room - this applies to a lot of the Riu hotels. It was the same in the Dominican Republic.
