we paid 27 euros for taxi on the way to Benalmadena from Airport and 22 euros on the way back.
There is a small bay at the one end of Benalmadena , it's a bit of a walk from the centre but it only had 10 people on at the most. There is a walkway off the beach and it looked like you could walk all the way to Fuengerola but we didn't try it.
The park in the centre is amazing with Peacocks, turkeys, chicken's , rabbits walking around freely and Terrapins and fish in the lake. I liked it more than the pay-for dolphin show just behind the park. The dolphin show is 16euros for and adult and although the dolphin show is good I felt some of the animals were a bit restricted in their enclosures.
The park in benalmadena is really worth visiting, something one might not expect on a beachresort:)
Another point I will mention even though it might not be the correct forum is that on the way back my girlfriends case was mislaid along with another families, the trouble is BMI were checking in for three flights at the same time in Malaga. We have been told our case has been found but it was upsetting at the time and I believe becoming more frequent with the budget airlines. Not a lot we can do as we obviously enjoy the low flight prices but we know for future not to keep anything perishable or expensive in the case.
Also why not get the train from Benalmadena, last stop is Fuengirola then just jump in a taxi or ask directions and its about 15 minute walk through Fuengirola. Train is very cheap and VERY reliable!!
As posted the Myramar centre is full of shops and bargains so lots of choice and fully air-conditioned so a chance for a break from the heat. Also in the same area is a new shopping square just opened, which is worth a quick look around, just head for Dunns and continue on that road, hard to miss. Go at midday when it is hottest and make the most of it. In here also is a cinema and cafes so a wide choice.
The beach at Fuengirola extends 7 kilometres and is totally flat. At one end is the castle but check with local information centre in Benalmadena as to when it is open.
Tons more ideas but you then require transport so no point in boring everyone.
