Hia, we stayed in the Presidente, 2years ago in Portinatx,I found it to be sooooooo quiet, and not much going on at all, a few shops and bars, thankfully we had a lot going on in the Presidente, otherwise, I have to say, me and son (aged 12 then) would have been extrememly board, but everyone is different, it is a nice quiet lttle place, if you want peace and quiet, :sun

Hi Cromwell ... just in case you haven't seen them, our Portinatx resort reports can be found by clicking HERE. Hopefully they might provide a greater insight to the resort.

No worries Cromwell :D as it says on the reviews, it is a peaceful, quiet place, and some of the views are spectacular, when looking down from the Presidente, the views were lovely, as they looked down onto the beach, and beyond :)
Have you booked for Portinatx ? were are you staying if you have booked ?
I know there is a hotel not far from the beach, which looked nice, but can't remeber the name of the hotel

El Greco.?
I've just read the reviews and looked at a video made by Thomson. good lord, I wouldn't recognise the El Greco, it was a dump compared to the newly built Presidente ( 1984?), but it looks like the El Greco has been modernised nicely and you just walk out of the hotel down some steps and onto the lovely beach
Cromwell, it sounds like the place hasn't changed one bit in over 20 years apart from a few more bars maybe.

Beautiful place, crystal clear water, safe bathing for kiddies, lovely walks, a snorkellers haven and a million miles away from the image of San Antonio and the clubbing scene..
It was the backdrop for a few of the scenes in the famous 1958 movie "South Pacific" and you can see why they thought it resembled an exotic location.

If you are an adult who wants to chill out in a beautiful place, then Portinax is the place, I think the kids today would be bored (depending on age) so if I was in that situation, then it would have to be one of the major hotels, just to keep the kids amused.

we stayed in the el greco 5 or 6 years ago, we had young kids then, 4 and 8, it was fine for them, there's not much for older kids, beautiful place though, you could always hire a car for trips to the more lively areas.

We stayed in the elgreco two years ago and it was ok. The resort is lovely but, my teenagers would have been bored to tears if we had taken them as there is so little to do. Our neighbours went with their kids last year to this resort don`t know which hotel they stayed in but, they said they would not go back with the kids ever as they did nothing but complain they were pleased to get back home.
For a quiet peacefull relaxing holiday you cannot beat it as its not a big noisy place. Only a handfull of shops and bars, but bus service to ibiza town at the top by the shops.

I'd be grateful if someone could confirm whether there's an ATM in Portinatx.

Superb link.

Go to Portinatx June 2008, so really helpful. Resort is small, but yet bigger than I imagined, so pleasant surprise.
