I'd recommend the Conrad, Sharm. I'm here now, second visit and will definitely be back for a third! Reviews in Kath's link

Depends on what sort of holiday you want. If you want a hotel based holiday probably Sharm, if you want to be able to have a walk in the evening, no hassle from shopkeepers, bars etc, then I would recommend El Gouna. Its a lovely 'small town' set among beautiful blue lagoons. We have been to both, and El GOuna comes up trumphs for us, returned there a second time this year and shall return again.

We have stayed at the hilton in sharks bay twice now and our teenagers have loved it there and made plenty of friends :D

A second vote here for El Gouna .

A great first time Egypt destination . Not too busy but plenty to do, loads of good restaurants, super cheap local buses and water taxis (£1.50 per week unlimited use ) and best of all no hassle .

We have visited Naama in Sharm and had a great time there but prefer El Gouna ,so much so that we bought a property there .
