Thankyou Ann at least i know how much shirts cost, that is £8 each? i thought i would get some trousers made for myself also, i have read alot about super tailors but wondered if it was to much to keep going back and forth for fitting etc, Leather jacket sounds great last time i had one made was in tunisia but they seem to have priced themselves out of the market now.You have been a great help many thanks. Hi ;
I had some trousers made last April at Super Tailors and to save keep going back for fitting, I took a pair with me that I liked the fit of and chose the material out there, they just copied them, I think they cost about £15.00 for 2pairs but they were quality suit fabic.

this is great G E L you are asking the questions that i have been wondering about.

I have a ring that i would like to take out there, have broken down and made into a couple items. Does that sound like something that woulkd be possible? Has anyone done that before that can recommend somewhere. We'll be staying at the Aldeia santa rita.

Also is it best to wear the ring out there or pop it in my suitcase?

Take the ring you don't need to wear it.
Most jewelers will weigh the gold and check if it is 9, 18 or 24 carat and then either give you an allowance or if it is big enough will be happy to make something up for you.
Most gold sold in Goa is 18 carat, 24 carat is about 1,000 rps per gram.
If you walk towards Candolim from your hotel there is a small Jewelers called Lala Arts on the left hand side of the road nearly opposite the school.
Ask for Dagga (you can't miss him he has blue eyes and brown hair, his brother has brown eyes and black hair).
Also Pop In Jewelers on beach road in Candolim, just up from the Inferno.
Both will be happy to take something and remodel it.

When you go into a jewelers you will often be offered a drink, tea (Kashmir) or a cold drink. Don't be afraid of accepting even if you buy nothing they will be ok.

Thank you Samtheboater that's very helpful.

I know this sounds daft, but I get quite shy when i'm somewhere new so if I say that I heard about them on HT's website will they know what i'm talking about or do they know you as people/friends that they see sometimes? Does that make any sense?

Amy,
Tell them Steve & Vanda sent you.
They don't know too much about HT but will always remember names.
