I'm looking to go back to samui in the New Year, and possibly Bophut for a change. Can someone recommedn a good hotel, not too remote?
Thanks

Its not a hotel, more of an apartment building with around 8/10 rooms. Its right on the beach, quite near to the centre.
There's a small bar area, and they can bring you coffee and toast in the morning.
There's no pool though, but it really is a lovely place. Cheap too, we went in the high season, and I think we paid around £20 per night (Per room),

Thanks, I'll look into it. Anyone anymore suggestions?
Also saw the Zazen Boutique Hotel, and really liked what I saw. Small hotel, nice stylish rooms, on the beach (pay more for the cottages right on the beach), and really friendly staff. Good value hotel.
Reviews on Trip Advisor seem to agree http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g293918-d505232-r8281851-Zazen_Bungalows_Boutique-Ko_Samui.html
Peace Resort has a good reputation for mid priced accommodation , for top end try the Anantara

we stayed at waterfront, it was lovely. at one end of bophut, about 1 min walk (max) from centre but very peaceful. couldnt swim in sea but beach was beautifully empty and restful.
The Peace Resort is great Have stayed there twice
Fiona, is it close to Bobhut town?
Bophut doesn't have a town but all the restaurants are in Fishermans Village which is more or less made up of one street and is 10 mins walk from Peace.
Hi Fiona, is there a resort review at all? I dont want it to be like Chaweng, but don't want it to be dead either. A few good bars and restaurants would be nice
we don't have a resort review but I can confirm there are a range of bars and restaurants. The last time we went we had thought we would go into Chaweng every second night- I think we went twice You won't get dance floors or party nights( the village elders don't want Bophut to become a minature Chaweng) but there is plenty to do.
Sounds good, i remember you urging me to give KS another go and try out Bobhut, so on your head be it Just to pick a hotel, but will definitely be staying in the Landmark in Bangkok. Will the weather be fine in February\March?
Samui online Guide. Its good. Feb or March should be great. I'm sure you will love it
have a look at the We got married at Zazen and I have to say it was a suberb place. If you want somewhere a little closer to the fishermans village the Smile House was fantastic. It is a great location and has two pools and very reasonably priced.
The food at Zazen is amazing!!!!! If you don't stay there highly recommend eating there one evening.
We stayed at the Bandara last May (2007) just next door to the Anantara, and a short walk to Fishermans village. We couldn't have asked for more .. we had a fantastic stay and couldn't fault the hotel.. We stayed in a Cottage Villa which was fabulous. Some of the Reviews on Trip Advisor are quite negatvie so we were a bit worried after booking, but it turned out perfectly and we can't wait to return..! A fabulous holiday !
