What is everyone's favourite Turkish food/drink (non-alcoholic!). Not food that you can get in Turkey i.e. steak and chips, but real Turkish food.
My favourites are:
Iskender kebab
Lahmacun
Ekmek
Ayran
Cay
to name but a few!
Oh, I'm salivating now.
Well I don't know the names of any of it!
Lahmacun is my favourit and sometimes a late night Kebab with garlic and chilli sauce
İmam bayıldı and mercimek çorbası
Icli kofte - meatballs made of minced beef, hazelnuts and hot chilli rolled in breadcrumbs then deep fried and served with fresh lemon and coriander. Another favourite (in the winter) is Et Guvec - casserole made with beef, tomato, peppers etc and served with yogurt.
I love the Turkish steaks with , pepper sauce, mushroom sauce, dianne sauce, in fact any kind of sauce ... what do you mean they aren't turkish Seriously Turkish meatballs do it for me.
They had a place with a big M on it which sold lovely burger and chips although it came served in a box , very nice
ah the fake maccy dees!
No joking this time i know its not that adventurous but their chicken caseroles taste amazing
Turkish food is lush i ate everything out there as long as it came with rice - there is just something about the rice there its oilly and the best - the turkish girl i met on a boat trip told me how to make it but i couldn't remember but the time i got home !!
Ummm Karniyarik or anything with aubergines.
Ezme is my favourite and their bread is delicious! Cant wait till October to get there.
mmmmm that bread that you get as a starter with the garlic stuff... mmm how yum. I could skip the main course and have loads of that instead.. yummy.
Peynirli tost, Anatolian Kebab ve Efes.
We love the iskender and very fond of ayran
Beyti Bebap, Lahmacun, and Kasarli Sucuklu Pide, (not all at once) but each with a side of Karisik Kizartma. Oh yes and some Torsu!(is that how it's spelled)
Efis ,Efis and then mmmmmmmm Efis .
