Hello
We stayed at flamingoland in a holiday home in June with a 9 yr old and a 7 year old.
We really enjoyed it, the holiday homes are very clean, spacious and modern. (all the caravan homes there are like new)
They have 3 separate double bedrooms, a nice shower room and toilet.
There's plenty of storage space, and the car can be parked right beside the caravan.
Make sure you take with you plenty of towels and tea towels, washing up liquid etc as we didn't take enough and had to go into morrisons in malton to stock up!
As regards nightlife its a bit quiet for the children, but there's a nice swimming pool you can use for your stay there which is open until 7 o clock.
There is plenty of space so I would advise to bring your bats and balls and other outdoor play things to keep the kids occupied.
There's lots of other things nearby, we went into Goathland where heartbeat is filmed and watched the actors being filmed, there's also scarborough and the North Yorkshire moors railway.
We loved it there and are planning to go back there again soon.
If you have anymore questions feel free to ask!
Have a good time.

hi debs

thank you for your reply.

it's good to know that we can park our car beside the caravan. we were worried about car parking issues. we thot tat the car has gotta parked away from the caravan.

my hubby was gonna drive around to look for a supermarket nearby when we get there. so now all he need to do is find the postcode of morrisons in malton & tom tom will take us there

i've read somewhere that there's lots of chavs making lots of noise till early hours of the morning. did you experience that / was that the case? my kids go to bed really early & they're very light sleeper especially my elder daughter. she is terrified of loud noises.

we're all looking forward to our holiday there now...just keeping our fingers crossed for sunshine 8)

Hello again
Where we were in the caravan site we didn't experience much noise, but certain areas of the park are more prone to noise, especially the ones nearest to the chip shop and american bar. Just before we left to go home we had a walk round the site to pick out the quietest spots for next time we visit (as we don't like noisy chavs either.) You can specify exactly which holiday home you would like to be in, - either on the phone or on the internet. We found the far corner to be the best, the holiday homes numbering from H-49 down to H-53. - If you have a look on the flamingoland website you can see the holiday home map which will show you exactly where they are. We have chosen H-51 for next time, we liked it because the kitchen room and 2 of the bedrooms looked out onto a small bit of grass and a hedge which seemed alot more private than looking onto the next persons home.
As I said before the homes are really clean and fresh, they provide pillows and duvets, but you will need to bring your own sheets and pillow covers etc.
They have a tv (although not very good picture!) Plenty of crockery, pots and pans, plates and bowls and cups, a nice full size oven, microwave and fridge. They have a onsite laundrette and small supermarket.
We went to morrisons for our meals in malton, your Tom Tom will get you there no probs.
We were impressed with the amount of security there, they are very friendly and make you and your kids feel very safe.
Anything else you want to know just ask.
Hope the weather stays great for you! 8)

hi debs

thank you so so much for all the info.

to be honest, i was very apprehensive about staying in a caravan initially. i've never tried it before & i really didn't know what to expect. i've always stayed in hotels wherever i go & i guess i was used to all the so-called 'luxury' with everything provided for.

this trip is for the kids & i just want them to have a good time. my step-daughter & elder daughter loves picnic (which we're definitely gonna do lots of outside the caravan) & camping (my daughter calls it tenting  ). so i reckon they'll enjoy it.

after reading your replies, i'm now confident that we'll all have a good time at flamingo land.

thank you once again :D

Hi porky pigs, if your looking for a sight away from "chav" types, I can thoroughly recommend Seafields at Seahouses. It's a really classy place and a lot of the vans are privately owned but they do have some for rent. You also have access to the pool, gym, sauna, beauty salon, all open till 7.
