Hi All
Really, really confused and could do with some straight answers, so please help
I am booking a holiday for Oct and will be flying with Thomsonfly. My baby will be under 6 months and will be on formula feed plus I will be weaning her off milk and introducing food. I need some advice on feeding her on the flight which is really worrying me.
The flight will be approx 5.5hrs so she will be due milk in that time. What is the best option:
1. Take powder milk and add bottled water, if so what water is recommended??
2. Ready made formula milk
3. Can I take food in jars?
Really unsure and would appreciate some help.
Thanks so much
Peggy
Baby food (liquids and solids) sufficient for the duration of the flight, can be taken through airport security. However, the accompanying adult will be required to verify the liquid baby food by tasting it in the presence of a security officer.

Here is a link to BAA which has frequently asked questions regarding what you can and can't take on the plane.
Hope it helps

We couldn't take unopened ready mix. It had to be opened and put in a bottle, but it only remains fresh for a short time once decanted so we had to throw it away. We were informed Boots sold ready mix, but the store was BEFORE security! Call to see if your departure airport sells baby milk after security.
Alternatively fill bottles with boiled water and take powder - you may have to taste the water though.
Put some ready mix in your case for when you get to your destination.
I've heard of parents being told to throw water in bottles away and buy water airside. from reading experiences of parents, the easiest thing to do is to take formula powder and have the water in the bottles but be prepared to throw water away or buy bottled water airside which is suitable for a baby. Baby food should be allowed but be prepared to taste it. My sister went to Turkey back in June with her baby and didn't have any problems.
