Travelling with baby can we get a taxi with baby

We are off to gran canaria in few weeks, we have been here many times, but this time we have a 6 month old baby, our hotel is abit out the way, how do we get a taxi without a car seat? and if anyone got any tips about travelling with baby please let me know
