Normally the buggy goes for free, but you can check with first choice.
You've presumably booked a seat on the flight for your grandson? The 10kg luggage allowance is checked-in allowance when you have an allocated seat rather than on the parents lap. A buggy can be taken in addition to this. You can use the buggy up to boarding the aircraft where it'll be loaded in to the hold for you. Toilets on aircraft are fitted with baby changing facilities (normally a drop down shelf). You'll only be permitted to take enough formula for the duration of the flight. You may be made to taste it but that's at the discretion of security staff. You'll find details on the DfT's website. For aircraft and flight details, you might want to refer to our Flights Forum.
You'll find plenty of shops selling fake good, I wouldn't worry on that score! As far as I know, everyone has to pay the visa regardless of age. You'll find further visa information on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website. There's a thread titled 'is it easy to go abroad with a baby?' that has lots of hints and tips.

hi dazbo 5 thanks for the info. we havn,t booked a seat on the plane for our grandson (well we never payed for one anyway) do you think FC might have made a mistake? Ive never known under 2s to have baggage allowance before.
I've just remembered, the luggage policy changed on 1st May 2009 (last friday). Because of the merger with Thomson, there are new rules regarding luggage allowanes. Prior to 1st May, there was no luggage allowance for under 2's unless you purchased a seat for them. However, this was revised on 1st May and infants under 2 years are now entitled to 10kg allowance. Sorry about that, I forgot we were in May already (this year is fying by!).

I think you can take whatever bottles you need but you will probaby be asked to taste them all.
Al the planes I have travelled on do have changing facilities, you pull a changing table down in one of the toilets, it's a bit cramped but it does the job!
Yes, you do have to pay £10 for babies.

Take cartons of formula you know the made up stuff and only have enough in hand luggage for the journey.
I personally packed 24 cartons of pre made forumla in a small suitcase(yes it was heavy and i had no allowance for him but trust me him having his own milk he knew and loved made a huge difference) i took 24 as he had 2 per day.
I also packed some of the little pura fruit pots as they dont need to be kept in a fridge and were handy to have.
I managed to feed him no problems atall, tons of fruits, breads, cereals, soup, pasta etc etc luckily my son eats anything so i let him try everything !
Another tip i did was my son was in a routine of
7am brekkie, 12 lunch, 5pm dinner, 630pm sleep for the night so with it being a 2hour time diff i just kept him to his times plus the 2hrs and it worked a treat so we did 9am brekkie, 1.30/2pm lunch, 7pm tea then he got in buggy and went straight to sleep while we enjoyed the evening.
Best product i bought to take with me was a pepeny shade for the pram its australian and gives 100% protection.
Enjoy we are looking at booking it for this summer and he will be 4 this year !
