hi all i think i have read in tight jocks posts or replies that the tandoori crab is very good at river view in cavelosim , can you confirm this please tight jock as i am putting it on my list of foods to try this season ?
also can anyone else recomend meals to try at certain restaurants either north or south
one of my best meals last season was at the tibetan resaurant in candolim
the one down the side ally i had meat dumplings in a spicey sauce the best meal i have had in ages great surroundings too and toilet clean
http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/goanjock/my_photos they keep the crabs in a basket dropped in the river so fresher than fresh
I can indeed confirm the Tandoori Crab was absolutely fabulous there's even a photo of it in my Goa album from March on
Great photo's Goanjock
hi tightjock thanks for that we will definately try it this season the photos are great i think we were in river view when you took the ones in november did you climbe over the rail to have the family one taken if its the same day we had mussles in white wine that day absolutely lovely have you tried them ?
I nearly forgot to add, Piri Piri prawns dreamers shack absolutely fantastic
hi gin lizzy wheres dreamers shack
That would have been us that trip was from around Nov 12th to Dec 10th, 05 I havn't tried the mussels and white wine (Though I did have a lovely seafood and creamy white sauce at The Fishermans Wharf) but I will put it on the list for this season so thanks for the tip
Do you know Bobs Inn on the border of Candolim/Calangute The road directly opposite its straight down there to the beach (past the tibetan restaurant) once on the beach its the 1st shack on the left. They really look after you and if you dont want to be bothered by the sellers you wont be. Anyone approaches you they whistle and the sellers just walk past without disturbing you. We love it there and the food is lovely.
thanks we will give the piri piri prawns an try we had piri piri chicken in portugal so i presume its a portugese dish , cant wait , building up a foods to try list
I missed it I think he was on Sinquerim beach up by the Taj. I can wait till November as its never the same when you cook it yourself. I will have the pleasure of letting someone cook for me for a change haha, counting the days I can tell you.
I live near to Bobs Inn so see you there.
wow cool pictures
Puri bahji for breakfast at Plantain Leaf........
Thanks
Also I would really like to try different curries in Goa, but I'm affraid they will come up too spicy and I hate wasting food, so I just play it safe with Tandoori Chicken, or a mild Massala. I can handle a bit of spice... can anyone recommend anything? Seeing as I'll be there for 3 weeks next year and don't want to live on Tandoori chicken (even though it is the best I have ever tasted)!
its a very mild but tasty curry made out of potatoes...and 3 puris, which are like deep fried chipatties (they blow up like balloons and are not greasey).....all for about 35 rupees.........yum yum yum
Thanks GoamadTony and Noggin sounds scrummy. I am going to try and make it
You can have most of your curries as hot as you like in Goa as they are cooked to order - just tell the waiter that you want more spice or that you like it "Goan Hot" they'll always do their best to give you exactly what you want.
