Only time I have taken malarials in Thailand is up north when close to Myanmar and Laos borders. Never required them for Krabi/ Phi-Phi. However always best to check with your GP for latest details on whats required and what inoculations you might need.

Theres a nice little nature tail on Koh Hong...takes about 15 minutes to walk, with labelled trees, butterflies and the occasional glimpse of a hornbill.

Hi we are going in 6 weeks to Bangkok then Phuket, we are also doing the 3 day elephant safari. We have just been to GP's for Hep A booster which is recommended - but were told as for malaria that as long as you are not going near to the northern borders you shouldn't need to take malaria tablets - oh yes they also said try not to get bitten!!! A little disconcerting but take plenty of deet spray and if you can get hold of doxycycline for afetr effects - then that may be advised to carrry with you.
