Leanne are you there Monday night? I am a female, LOL maybe I could meet you for a drink and you can fill me in? I arrive approx 5pm from Manchester. with hubby and 2 girls, 9 and 6.
Can any one tell me what alcholic drinks they have there? My wife only drinks baileys and just wondering if they do that there. Also how is the ear infection going? That I am worried about as my son has robs with his ears.
we are going to the holiday village at the end of september, and i am wondering if everywhere will still be open then.
we went last year at the beg of sept and i know it was getting quiet but wondering if the town and market will still be on in the october ????
As for drinks, they have effes on tap which is quite nice and all the usual local whiskey, Gin & Vodka also schnapps in quite a few flavours. Wine is also available around the hotels in barrels that I seen many children just over 10, helping themselves! (I would have done the same mind!), so no baileys basically. The thing I noticed was that however hard I treid, I never got drunk?

Not any more. It was in 2006 but they have been removed this year and wine was available from the bar only rather than help yourself. This had a very positive impact on the number of sozzled teens (and tweens!) that were generally causing havoc in 2006
weve taken out first choice insurance and today i called them to see how much the excess waiver was
it cost £5.00 per person (£20.00 in total for our party )
which i thought was really good
so if we do need to see the dr regarding ear infections at least we dont have to pay the £50.00 excess per person
i would recomend people look into this
on another note has anyone ever used the vip lounge at dalaman?
We had quite a wait to get in the airport from being dropped off and as soon as we got to the terminal, we was welcome to board the plane. So Maybe not worth the VIP lounge? I am a fan of these lounges though as I treat them as part of the holiday (Plenty of drinks and relaxing wait for plane etc)
The terminals are quite nice mind, much better than other places I have visited but the airport is an absoute mare when arriving, I reckon only us brits have the rigmarole of trying to get past security/visas etc
we have been told you can now ese the facilities of both hotels as they are both now run by iberostar even though the wrist bands are a different colour, does anyone know if this is true?
You can use the pools at either hotel, however you cannot use the kids clubs at the Palace if you are staying at the tropical. We used the pools at the tropical a couple of times just for the slides really but you stood out. You are also not allowed to use the restaurants and bars. I did hear of people being refused coming over from the tropical to the palace trying to get served at the bar. I know they are both owned by the same company but where as last year both hotels offer the same holiday facilities now they dont. I think the tropical cater for couples and maybe younger families it is much quieter and also mostly Germans anyway. The palace have much more for children and older children and much more entertainment for families.
Hi there..going out tomorrow..and wondered if anyone could tell me if there are irons and ironing boards in the room (otherwise need to get it all ready before we go).
No, there are not any Irons or ironing boards in the rooms. We took a travel iron and laid a towel across the table to iron anything that got creased in the cases.
Have a great holiday.
I have done this today and I will post any further news. I would like to say that I have not done this to seek compensation but to hopefully save fellow holidaymakers suffering the problems we had during our stay.
I sent another email saying I was not happy with the reply and they never got back to me.
Customer service via email -100 however, via telephone and lots of moaning 95%. I would like to add, it cost me £26 in telephone charges alone to change my holiday but it was worth it in the end. 10pence a minute!
So on that note, thank you FC but on another, please take customer comments seriously. We have the power of the internet and we are all discussing our holidays, listen and do something about it!
That is exactly what I have pointed out to them Mcfester - I am still booking holidays with them via their shops and not going to another firm via the internet. They need all the money they can get in this day and age and need to take clients very seriously. Major competitors are only a click away
We got back from here on monday none of us got an ear infection and my girls were in the pool nearly all day everyday, the food was good the turkish night was a good night lots of choice, we did use the pools at the other hotel and the kids bands were the same so they were able to get drinks without any questions, also went over there one night as friends of ours were staying there and we got served at the bar no problem. The kids clubs where really good also used the stay and play at the creche for my 17mth old which was a good idea as got him out of the sun for a couple of hours, i would recomend this hotel to other people but it was a bit to big. We also went on jeep safari booked it in the town we all had a brilliant time even the baby, so all in all a good holiday was had by all especially when my other half and villa chucked ollie in the pool for his birthday. Any questions i will try to answer for you.
Adele
We were also in the pools every day from start to finish, after one week my son complained of a sore ear, I give him ibrufen and panadol and in the morning he was fine, not sure if this had anything to do with the fact that I was using AudiClean in our ears every day after swimming.
The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, weather extremely hot every day, food was nice but got a bit monotonous after 2 weeks. We were also there to see poor Oli thrown in the pool by the "thugs" ha ha, it was fab, I even managed to film it and once sorted I'm hoping to upload it to You Tube.
Entertainment was best I've ever experienced on a holiday, the team work so hard day and night and are so friendly and focused on providing a fantastic holiday for everyone.
Complex is huge and beautiful and clean, staff work so hard, we did go over to the other side and used their slides which the kids thought were better and we did sneak a couple of drinks from the fruit machines!!
My partner and son went on jeep safari and had a fab time, we all went on the gullet cruise and again this was wonderful. Cheaper than the family cruise in long run as on the family cruise you have to pay for your own drinks, which believe me you need lots of. The ice cream man that followed our boat around was a pain in the posterior and very expensive.
All in all we had an absolutely fantastic holiday - came back with some absolutely gorgeous photos from the resort, paid 498 YTL for 40 pics, 2 albums and 2 large photos in frames, they are absolutely fantastic and well worth the money.
Jealous of all those still to go. Give the entertainment team our best wishes, Carol John and kids from Manchester
2 sleeps to go and fully looking forward to it , although i am prepared for it also .
Hi we are flying out thursday for an eleven night stay this is our third year of going here and we love it. so to all that are going as well see you there x
Accordingly to my FC travel agent, this means that they are now taking me seriously and not just fobbing me off.
Will keep you posted.
