Booked this a while ago for October and been mulling over whether to go or change hotels ever since. Had all but decided to just go for it until your recent report, Goan Mad.
Was thinking of trying to change to the Tropicanna, which seems to be about the same price, but with better reviews.
In a quandry again, help!
I have tried not to threat over this Hotel and the reviews and its a bit late now as I fly tomorrow but I starting to feel a bit sick is it really as bad as people say, there are no up to date comments has anybody been lately?
Hi! my mums just booked to go to the Dorian with Ola holidays (who are already messing her about, she still hasn't received confirmation of the booking, which has been paid in full - and it's been 3 weeks now!!) Anyway, she got a really good deal AI 600.00 for the two of them, in September. Would really like to try and find some info out for her, from someone who has stayed there recently! Read a few reviews, which don't seem too great! Also if anyone has any info on the Tonoz Beach? as I'm staying there next week! Thanks
On one of the other topics headed OLU DENIZ HOTELS - URGENT posted by mazza, she said that she has been moved from the Dorian Hotel due to health and safety reasons does anybody know what these reasons are as I go there in 4 weeks. Thank you Merged with existing topic. Dazbo HT Mod
Well Ive just come back from the Dorian and I needn't have worried we had a fantastic time, a holiday is what you make it, the staff were friendly the food was edible although repeated with an extensive salad bar which is all presented very nicely, the hotel is clean and help out in every way they can, I have booked to go back in August and I can't wait. It seems some people want 5* food and amenities but only want to pay for 3*. You will have a great time
Hi what dates did you visit the Dorian Hotel?
I was contacted by beatthebrochure on friday 20th May to say that there was this supposed issue, have you any idea what this may have been? We are now staying in Hisaronu but WILL BE going to have a look at the Dorian!
My understanding from another forum is that they have decided to keep a menagerie of animals including goats, chickens, ducks and geese along with an incubation unit for eggs.
I would suspect that some operators may be worried about a risk of e-coli or similar from all the faeces around from the animals.
This is what I have gleaned from elswhere so please do not shoot the messenger!
Glynis, I wrote that post 2 years ago so was abit of a surprise when it popped up even though the time and date says different????????? As i said in my post 2 years ago I really enjoyed myself and never had any problems but that comment Mazza reported about them moving her due to health and safety reasons have worried me massively. I have been in touch with Onthebeach who i booked with and they no nothing, do they have a duty to make sure that this hotel is safe and move me???????/.
i came back on the 26th visted the dorian and lagoon deluxe both look great hotels i had a beer in each but did not check the room there was no sign of any health and saftey issues with any customers that where there, i would play it by ear but if you booked with a travel company just keep on and they will move you if there are any problems, but the only problem i can see is that it will be too hot down in olu
Thanks for takin a look maverick57uk you have put my mind a rest a little, i really shouldn't read reviews as i have been to this hotel 3 times before and always had a great time so should go with my own reviews really and it can never be too HOT
