Friday!
Your help needed please. We are looking to stay somewhere with a nice sandy beach which is good for swimming. We don't want bars and nightlife, but a choice of restaurants and some shops would be great. We have only been to Turkey once - to Altinkum - and found the hassle a bit much. Do you think Akbuk may be what we are looking for? Is it a good, sandy beach there? Any info would be appreciated.
Akbuk is the complete opposite to Altinkum. It does have the nice beach you are seeking, a few non-touristy shops in the centre and a handful of restaurants, whether or not this may be too quiet for you is for you to decide. You are a thirty minute Dolmus ride from Altinkum. Perhaps you should consider Olu Deniz which has a beach and is only a short Dolmus ride from Hisaronu and another ten minutes from Fethiye. Kalkan is another to look at, though it doesn't have the beach you seek, you can take the Dolmus to Patara which has got the most fabulous beach we've ever seen. Check out website Enjoy Kalkan. Another resort to consider is Turunc which is near Icmeler and Marmaris. You can go by Dolmus or Water Taxi to Icmeler and Marmaris. All the best.
Thanks for the help, Les. Akbuk does sound what we are looking for!
Thankyou
