Far East

Hi Rob, I can give you some advice on eating out.
We stayed for a few days last Sept and we did have one expensive meal (we'd planned a special, money no object meal, and it was in a posh restaurant so not typical). We had pre-dinner cocktails, a 3 course meal with wine and after dinner drinks and it cost us £170.
After looking through my statements where we paid with debit card - other costs were brunch £18, Indian meal with beer £35, drinks & snacks in a bar £23, Italian meal with £55, drinks (all night in the same place) £37, Japanese lunch £27.
Snack food is quite cheap.
We found debit/credit cards widely excepted, even in a bar we frequented so it saved carrying loads of cash around.
Hope that helps a bit.

Getting around is cheap- get an octopus card, they even refund what you don't use.
The most expensive thing we found was beer and wine- incredible prices in some places, but food in small restaurants and markest is relatively cheap. We had a blow out meal as well while we were there but like I said its the alcohol that was dear.
