Hi people
Just want to say the forum looks great, I had a quick look around and it seems very informative but I need a few questions with upto date answers.
1. Where is the best place to book a holiday for Goa for best price, I want to travel mid October so is it best to wait a couple of weeks to get a good deal or do the prices normally stay the same.
2. do prices differ much from flying from Manchester or London, Would prefer manchester as it is closer but if it saves loads of money will travel down to London
3. What sort of weather will I be expecting on the time i go?
4. What is the average amount of spending money needed to go chill out have a few drinks and eat out and see a few excursions. How much is a meal and how much are drinks?
5. What part of Goa is best to stay with things to do around you, sights to see and possibly do a bit of fishing from a boat.
I thinks thats all for now i'm sure will pop up but want to book it this weekend so any responce will bew much appreciated.

ps there is a thread further down the page on prices of food and drinks
October is early and weather may not have fully settled into sunshine. It will be hot, though. I'd try North Goa because there's more going on and you'll get boats for fishing easily, provided the sea is OK.
It will be failrly quiet at that time and I'd be tempted to book late. There are ususally offers if you can go within a few days. Don't forget to get your visa sorted out beforehand, though.
Don't think there's much difference in price between Gatwick and Manchester. A meal can cost anything between £1 and £10+ depending on where you eat. Eating out is very cheap and the food is excellent. You can get by easily on £20 a day (for one).
Hope you get sorted and enjoy it!
Most of the tour companies dont start their flights till the beginning of Nov, which means that the only charter flights operating in Oct are with the dreaded Monarch. The main tour company using them is Jewel in the crown. We left it till last thing last year and finished up paying about £440 for a flight As they are the only charter flights during Oct the tend to be full and it's a gamble leaving it last thing Alan
we did a package deal in feb this year with cosmos and flew with monarch.after reading the reviews was dreading the flight but out of three trips to goa, travelpack and thomson before monarch was by far the best flight!
Are you a petite person by any chance.
By the way which part of the Monarch group did you say you worked for!!
