Hi,
We are going to Colva from 20th October until 4th November. I've been looking on the internet for places to go, but have found quite a few places say they only open in November, "during the tourist season". Are we going to find lots of places closed during our stay?
Also, we arrive on the Sunday afternoon, but need to get to Panaji for 10am on the Monday. I assume that, what with jetlag etc, we should just grab a taxi. Can we just walk out of our hotel and grab one? Or will the hotel order one for us? Or are either of these options leaving us open to being ripped off and/or hassled when we're tired and vulnerable?
Any help on the above most gratefully received.
No problem getting a taxi - just agree the price before you get in. End of October is the very start of the season and some places will just be setting up or a few may even be closed.
hi you are fortunate you are going right at the beginning of a new season , everything will be fresh and the vegetation very green following the monsoons. You may find there are less beach shacks than there would be by beginning of November but dont worry it will give you a chance to see the real beauty of Goa. Our first trip 12 years ago was the last 2 weeks of October and 2st in November and believe me it is a memory that will stay for every. Goa changes as the tourist season progresses and its very interesting to watch.
You can get a taxi at the hotel, or at the square in front of the beach, It takes a good hours drive, to Panjim.
