Take a look at resort reviews, If it goes back to 2005 I have a review posted.
We stayed at calas 2 years ago and at the time our son was 10 and daughter 6.
we returned this year and had a great time.
It was perfect for all of us.
The town has all the usual shops selling gifts, alongside shops which sell sandalls/clogs.swimwear for all ages and sarongs, t shirts, the list goes on.
There are a couple of pharmacys as well.
There are cafes and resturants, a sports bar showing whatevers on at the time (it also showed Big brother evictions this year)
There are also a few minimarkets as well
In the center of the town there is a small fun area for kids. There are go carts which my son, a strapping 12 and a half year old tall for his age went on again this year
There is also a smaller version for the tiny ones. Bouncy castles to suit your childrens ages and a few more bits & peices. There is a great crazy golf in a square near one chemist and the sports bar. At the end you all get a lolly which is nice.
Bars come alive more at night, although they are open during the day
Its more family orientated and there are a selection with entertainment.
Again reviews will tell you more.
There are also photos of calas on the photo pages which make good viewing
Wish I was back !

Glad you like the resort, thanks for the info, dont suppose you have stayed a t the America Hotel or know anything about it. Would be great if you do.
We stayed at the America from the 14th until the 28th Aug this year and it was brilliant.
I have a review on for Hotel America for more details, also have a few pictures on the Calais De mallorca photo page.
We had a room overlooking the resident America annexe, towards the back of the hotel but still with a sea view.
Not as pretty as a view overlooking the beach but a lot quieter as we diddnt overlook the outside entertainment.
The room has air conditioning, and we had an ordinary room with four beds, It was adequate for our needs.
Meals got a bit repetitive (Which is to be expected) but there was plenty of variety each day And snacks & drink all day.
If you do a day trip, you can order a packed lunch the day before, you get roll, butter, crackers, cream cheese, pate, fruit, biscuits, and a bottle of water a real carrier bag full EACH !. (Items do vary)
The town is five minutes away, you can see this on one of my photos.
The beach is down some rather sloping steps. We all managed well, and im sure you will too. The beach is worth it !
The entertainment in august is very good.
All the entertainment was outside except on a rainy windy day.
The mini disco does start around 8.30pm but the kids love it. They sing a song translated to "The Train" and do a sort of conga right round the outside of the tables with the entertainer at the front.
The adults all stand round the edges orange & lemons style & the kids go through the tunnel.
Daytime entertainment in Aug is brilliant too.
A tune is played out several times a day and announcements are given over the loud speaker what activity is going on. You just go and join in when and if you want to. This applies to the kids activities as well
There is also a kids club in a special room between certain times.
Only downfall is that its an expensive holiday because of the time of year and because its all inclusive. We went with first choice and it cost for 2 adults one 12 year old and an 8 year old £2802.
Next year it will be a lot more as my son will be 13 and is classed as an adult for all inclusive.
Hopefully we will go back next year money permitting.
