Dont know where you visited dundee-scotland?, But I was there twice last October and they only reduced the prices in the last week 23rd to the 30th, When I was their from the 10th to the 17th they did not reduce the prices that was in Icmeler and Marmaris.

oh olly,

Are you going for one week or two? For spending money it all depends on what you are going to buy, I would take £500 per week.

Hi rwb46
We went on the 7th Oct last year, and the last few days we were thier prices were comming down compared to summer ie Rockport kids jackets £7, Beckham jeans £10 or lower, didnt need to haggle much as the prices were that good

At the yaughting marina in maramis large effes 1 lira,

The main dual carrigeway near the beach front all shops seemed to drop thier prices on the same day

thats why we are going on the 12th Oct this year, as we had bought goods at start of holiday, before they were lowered

This really is a daft question!!,every body is different ,biggest thing is how much alchohol do you drink!!!! because its expensive to the food!!,Right we are not big drinkers, had english breakfast most mornings, ate out every evening hotels near our apartments and on the seafront,ie steaks 4 course meals and a couple of drinks,we did have a couple of drinks on our balcony before we went out,we did a jeep safari and 2 boat trips and turkish bath, we spent about £550 for 2 of us for 2 weeks,no doubt Strawberry will come on this post and say we was penn y pinching and must have lived on kebabs and burgers as in previous posts on this subject. What you have to do is work out how much you have to spend and divide it by how many days,we had steak every night. ennypinchers and we must have lived on kebebs and burgers as in previous posts, but honestly we didnt and we had a fabulous holiday and we didnt go without ,basically divide what mon

we went allinclusive last year... had one meal out and 2 drinks in a couple of bars.... we are 2 adults and 2 kids and we still spent £500!!

Crispy,

You couldn't have had steak on the day you went on Jeep Safari, because according to you, you scraped by on about £18 a day. So after paying for your trip that would have left you with about a fiver............

Oh Olly,

I know Turkey very well, have spent months at a time living out there, and have travelled to all the major resorts.

A standard 3-course meal in a restaurant, with wine or drinks, for two people will cost you approximately £30.00

If you want to estimate a budget for the day, to include:

Breakfast
Lunch
Dinner
Snacks
Sunbed Hire
Drinks around the pool
Water Rides (Banana/Pedaloe etc)
Ice Creams
Dolmus (Bus) Fares
Taxis'
Excursions
Entertainment
Cocktails/Drinks/Beers/Soft Drinks
Late night Snacks
Tips to Staff/Waiters' etc
Market Days Shopping
Buying Souvenirs
Buying Gifts
Buying local goods for self; handbags/sunglasses/jewellery/gold etc
Buying Duty Free
Incidentalls: Telephone calls/emergency medicine/suntan cream etc
Plus food and drink for the apartment..........

whilst you may not purchase all of the above, I dare say you'll need to budget for many of them

I would budget £50 a day per head. But you could easily spend much more.

:D Strawberry Crispy did not say that he had a steak the day that he went on the boat trip

Read his post again no wonder people comment on you

I also have been to Turkey for the last 12-13 yrs all resorts mainly Marmaris and Icmeler but you can get things very cheap trips food drink etc.

Even though we always go A/I we do eat out do the trips etc etc and we roughly only spend £200 in 2 weeks and we take our grand kids each time

One point i shall make we have never paid for the kids on the trips always got them free :D

But please read Crispy's post carefully and there will be no conflict again on yet another posting.

No Celine,

YOU read his post again!!

He said, and I quote: we had steak every night

You go and look back at his post - it's there. There's nothing wrong with MY eyesight or literacy.

You're obviously one of these people who like exactly the same sort of things Crispy does. I know Marmaris caters for the cheap package deal - and that obviously suits you, and maybe you don't mind scrimping.........but most people couldn't possibly manage, let alone have a decent time, on £200 spending money for TWO WEEKS for 4+ people! :P

It's impossible. Are you sure you haven't got your sums wrong? After all, you read Crispy's post wrong too!
Reply
We dont go for cheap package deals

We stay in 4 and 5 star hotel's may i add

Crispy does not state he ate steak every night he stated steak 4 course meal every night that does not mean he ate steak every night hequoted that has a for instance

And we dont scrimp on money we stay in lovely A/I hotel's go on A/I boat trip's jeep safari etc etc and yes we do only spend £200 on trips etc

I think you are just one off theses people who see the negative in every one just chill out

No matter what people say you are always going to have a dig at some one

You still obviously haven't read Crispy's post correctly; or maybe you misunderstood it. Strange. Are you telling me he didn't say 'he ate steak EVERY night?' :P Either you haven't read it properly, or you're in some sort of denial!

Are you a friend of Crispy's by any chance? There's a lot of similarities between the pair of you. :D

Whatever, I still claim it's impossible to get by on what is effectively 'pocket money'. But I shan't argue with you - you refuse to listen. You don't even have the graciousness to accept you were wrong, and that Crispy did write he ate steak each night. It's there in BLACK AND WHITE!!!

Out of curiosity; how much do you pay for your all-inclusive two-weeks in this 5* hotel you always go to? Fifty quid? :P

Why are you so vindictive ?

And i did not say we always go to this 5 star hotel i said we always stay 4 and 5 star

And if you are well traveled like you state you must no that you can not get a 5 star A/I hotel for 2 weeks and only pay £50

So that's just shows how vindictive you are

Enough right now!!!! This is getting tiresome.

We try to run a happy ship on HT. Why cant everyone be civil to each other.

Incidentally although not taking any sides I must be reading Crispys post incorrectly too as and I quote:

ate out every evening hotels near our apartments and on the seafront,ie steaks 4 course meals and a couple of drinks,

It's all about how one interprets things.

If the post continues in the tone it is at the moment - this will end up with another topic being locked.

Not to get involved in any disputes here, but I do feel the need to say that people who spend very little while on holiday are in the minority.

If I had read this thread prior to going on holiday and I believed that you could have a good holiday on £200 for a fortnight for 4 people. I would have been fairly fed up at people when I got back, had I only taken a few hundred quid with me.

I went with my 6 year old son this July just gone. I didn't do a lot of shopping and I don't drink very much. I do like going to nice places to eat and wouldn't consider going to some of the take away place.
I spent £800 in the 2 weeks we were there. This did not include loads of trips out, we only did two trips as it was far too hot.

I'm sorry I don't think it is very helpful to people to try and convince them they won't be spending any money while in Turkey. Because it is just not true.

I think celine said she spent £200 but was staying allinclusive so this was just extra money.
