I have been told that the beach near our hotel (The Dusit Resort) is not very good. Does anyone know where the best beaches are in Pattaya, near the Dusit if possible and also how you get to them. I remember somebody mentining something about travelling to an island nearby. Please can anybody help.

We stayed in the centre of Pattaya - many years ago - the Royal Garden Resort - since become the Marriott. I was not impressed with the beach at all (nor Pattaya for that matter). We went out to Ko Samet which had a nice enough beach...but then I would hardly call it handy for Pattaya - more for a day trip out.
Can anybody advise me which are the best beeches to go on and where is the cleanent sea near Pattays. I have been told that swimming in the sea at Pattays is unwise.
