Skirlington is a large site. It has a kiddies playground, duck pond, and various amenities. There is a large open air market (many bargains) within the site grounds every Thursday and Sunday. There is a decent golf course next door.
You will need a car to get about. There are many attractions within an hours drive. The site is aprox 30 miles from Scarborough, 40 miles from York, 10 miles from Bridlington and ten miles from Hull. It is close (aprox 3 miles) to Hornsea Freeport (more bargains).
I've never stayed there so I can't vouch for the site, I just go to the market.
are you talking about a touring caravan park or somewhere you rent a static caravan?!
we will be renting one. this is the first hoilday like this we have had. we normally would go abroad, but with a ten month old baby we didn't fancy that!!
we used to go too Filey the Haven campsites there are great.the one we went to is Primrose Valley.its right next to the sea and as some good clubs onsite also they have a kiddies club too.might be worth a look
If you are after peace and quiet, along with lovely countryside and nice views from your caravan, Howgill Lodge is very nice, environmentally friendly and David Bellamy recommended.
