yea thanks for your help, we wanted to go camping in a tent but they dont have any then. we have looked at one in brittany the chateau des ormes do you know if that is in easy reach of the d day beaches?

It might be worth paying a little more and staying in a mobile-home in St Aubin for the convenience of being directly on the D-Day beaches
If you want a tent try Camping de la Vallee at Houlgate. Keycamp and Eurocamp both go there. We were there in 2002 and it was a good base for seeing the WWII sites. We had a 21 month old with us and it wasn't too far to drive even with her in tow. If you're doing the beaches go to the Caen Memorial too.
