Cote D'Azur is a large area - and varied. Nice and Cannes are bustling, elegant cities, St Raphael is smaller and quieter. Remote hill top villages abound - but might be too remote and quiet. A car helps greatly but need a bit more info. to point you in a direction.
Thanks for the reply - we have booked a bed and breakfast - Chambres d'hotes, near Grasse for the first week and second the week in a Novotel hotel in Cannes, so hopefully get a mix of countryside and beach.
