Never been to Lanzarote before but this resort sounds ok.
Can anyone recommend any nice apartments, close to both beach and nightlife.
Prefer pubs rather than restaurants. Are there plenty? Family with two 12 year olds to keep entertained. Love karaoke or watching singers/entertainers.
Any comments would be much appreciated.

Why Costa Luz robertk, rather than anywhere else Yes, there are no hills to climb, and it is very near the beach, but it is not near most of the nightlife, so a long walk home at the end of an evening. Club Oceana (the other complex on their website) is much more central, although it is up a hill, though ladyl didn't mention hills being a problem. Still, taxis are cheap 
ladyl, there are loads of good apartment complexes in Puerto del Carmen and there are some good reviews on this site for you to browse through
Because I've been to many apartments in PDC, including Club Oceano and Costa Luz are the best I've stayed in.
They'e on the beach, they are near pubs, Jaspars for instance is only a short walk, there are a coupleo f pubs in the shopping centre across the road as well as a couple of restaurants and a chinese for take away.
And as we were asked our opinion, I gave mine!
