HH T&Cs
you can lose all your points if there is no activity in a 12 month period. I change mine for BA miles although I do also get HH points with their "double dipping" offers.
Look here for other airlines they are partners with.

hmmmm I thought that might be the case fiona . I did think about opening an account for BA miles and transfering them but when I looked on http://www.moneysavingexpert.com it does a comparison check and my hilton points would be worth £40 but if I change them to BA miles they would only be worth £14 :( . dont know why im worrying really Im probably being pathetic  I think the BA miles is the only one of any use isnt it . was hoping i could swop them for Airmiles but doesnt look like I can :(

thanks

are you sure that was for BA miles and not airmiles?

Hi fiona . just checked the BA site again and it says exchange 10,000 hh points for 1000 BA points . so i have 20,000 HHpoints which would give me 2000 BA points and if I check the two here http://checker.moneysavingexpert.com/loyalty/ it gives figures as 20,000 Hilton points worth £44 but 2000 BA points only worth £14 . Do you make that right fiona or am I missing something because if thats the case thats quite a bum deal :(

hmm
in my case I get the "buy one seat with airmiles get one free deal" as I use amex. We don't fly for business- just holidays and we get free flights to the far east or similar every year. So I don't look at comparisons- I just know we do well :D In our case we don't want to limit ourselves to Hilton hotels and in any case, they are not always everywhere we want to go, so it made sense to convert.
However, if you think you will book a Hilton hotel again, it may be worth keeping. Can you use the points for airport hotels for instance?

I cant see us booking another hilton this year . We are going to the hilton nuweiba at easter but I got the best price through thomson so I wont get any more points for that . I got the ones I have from booking direct with hilton for Sharks bay this year. cant really say i would use them anywhere else so probably better I transfer them. I use american express too but mine is a credit card (american express platimum) and I get cashback , is yours a reward type card?? . should have around £250 cashback coming back november which im going to use to book flights (ryanair) and my hotel for 3 nights in Krakow :D :D . just trying to put together another "free" weekend break with some of these reward points i.e the hilton ones and my airmiles . I will start another one going with BA. im getting confused do you transfer your to airmiles or BA miles

my cc is platinum too. We get a redemption voucher every year which means that when we redeem miles for one flight we get a companion ticket free.
Would not tough airmiles as I can't find any good deals with them.Ours are BA miles.
Have a look at Hiltons other partners to see if any are ones you would use.

yes the premium plus is our one.
By the way- we pay the balance off in full every month.Too high a rate if we didn't

Yes I always do as well . Ive become expert on playing the credit card game :D .If I cant pay it it gets transfered elsewhere. learnt my lesson many years ago :D.I use mine for everything .food shopping ,petrol . everything I pay for .I did notice the APR but it was the annual charge of £120 that I didnt like :( . do you have to pay that regardless of your spend??.

I also have a tesco credit card that i use for anything that I cant use American express for + all my food shopping is done at tesco. i usually get about £150 a year in clubcard vouchers. this time i converted £40 in airmiles but think I made a mistake there.

no- we have another amex card- which we have never used  but it takes the cost down to £60.
for what its worth- I wouldn't do this for shorthaul flights but its well worth it for long haul.

thanks for that Fiona . I do like to do my investigation thoroughly :D
