UPDATE, just looked on the Louis web site & they have this message...
Due to open October/November 2008
Based on the decision to construct additional facilities at the hotel which include the creation of swim up rooms, as well as rooms with private pools, a very extensive and unique spa center, a club room and additional sport facilities, the Louis Tiran Sharm is due to open in October/November 2008.
When were Thompson going to tell me, that the holiday I had booked for June, wasn't going to happen!!!!!!

We got back from CSR on Sept 13th and the hotel you have booked is a shell and really dont think it will be finished.The CSR is fantastic

Judging by Th omson 's usual standard of keeping customers informed, Kim, they probably don't know themselves yet!

No, got a letter this morning from Thomsons confirming that we are not going there.
They offered us the (cheaper) Jaz Mirabel Beach. This has NO a la carte restaurants, mini-bar is extra, NO sea-view rooms left (I had paid a lot extra for a full seaview room, the best upgrade) & not great reviews either on trip adviser.
If I had wanted this place, I would have booked it.
Where is the CSR?
It's at Nabq Bay (about 25 mins north of Namma Bay in a cab).

its about three-quarters of a mile from the site of the louis shell ,only trouble is its a first choice exclusive hotel as is the holiday village so you may have trouble changing ,best bet is get hold of a thompsons brochure and then cross reference the hotels with the reviews on here ,pick one and then give them crap till you get it at your price

Have I heard of somewhere called the Coral Sea Resort?
Or is it something else?

Oh, BTW, the Louis Tiran Sharm is ALSO a premier hotel in the First Choice brochure, I'm pretty sure the Jaz Mirabel isn't, so again its not like for like.
While I'm sure the Jaz Mirabel is susposed to be a really good hotel, its not an all singing all dancing with bels on like the Louie Tiran Sharm will be.
My OTHER two options when I was booking was the Reef Oasis Blue Bay & Club Magic Life, my reasons for NOT booking either of these were, the Reef Oasis doesn't have sea view rooms & Club Magic Life I was worried would be a bit Butlinsey & we are a couple aged 40.

They've said I can have the Reef Oasis Blue Bay for the same price if I want.
However they won't refund my sea-view costs (which I can't remember if it was £121 for both or EACH!). BUT I can't have a sea-view in the ROBB, because they don't have them. But they will still charge me.
Opinions on this option gratefully recieved.

Kim,There is a Reef Oasis Blue Bay and a Reef Oasis Beach Resort which I believe is the newer and better hotel.They are both run by an Italian company and therefore have entertainment geared to them.I would try and find reviews of both hotels as in the brochures they show the same photos on both hotel descriptions.There is quite a bit difference in price as the Beach Resort is 5star.
The Reef Oasis Blue Bay is definately 5 star, I think its the other one the Reef Oasis Beach Resort which is a lower star & older.
The Blue Bay is the new one they finished this summer. I wouldn't go to the other one (the beach resort) as the reviews are not great

The Reef Oasis Blue Bay is a fab hotel. We would go back there.

think it`ll be ready for next summer, it doesn`t look much at the mo but by then i think it will be done, its all money, money, money so it won`t take long. the bay i took the photos from is out of this world so can imagine the hotel will be just as good..

Booked the Louis Tiran today for next June 2009 - contacted (email) hotel direct and they emailed back with confirmation of my booking. I read somewhere it should be open by January 2009.
