we were there about 20 years ago on xmas day so i know how you felt, although it was cold when we were there lol, but fabulous atmosphere and its stuck in my memory all these years later, ive travelled extensively to around 30 countries so i have too many special moments to list. probably 1 of my top was getting married on lykia worlds beach in turkey 2 years ago, fabulous scenery and jet skis speeding around in the background whilst saying our vows, sun shining, fab atmosphere , and swimming in the pool hours before we got married was so relaxing !!!

when we visited Cambodia last year we went by tuk tuk to some temples near Angkor Wat at dusk, it was silent, the sun was setting and there were wild monkeys clambering around, there was a very magical feeling that evening and I will never forget it.

Walking along the banks of the Seine one hot August evening and finding several couples dancing the tango, watched by an appreciative crowd. Evidently this is a regular thing. People just turn up and dance, and can even get lessons from more experienced partners if they wish.

The sun setting on the Annapurna Range during a visit to Nepal. The whole mountain range was glowing pink, whenever I think of the Himalayas that memory comes to mind.

The first glimpse of the Grand Canyon as the coach went round a bend along a tree lined road and the canyon appeared unexpectedly.I also remember sitting on a hill overlooking a valley in Cappadocia,Turkey as the sun was setting. Both were magical experiences.

At the statue of Christ at Corcovado in Rio - arrived in thick fog and thought we weren't going to be able to see beyond His feet, but it lifted painfully slowly and we were able to watch nature unveiling Him inch by inch - amazing!

2 breathtaking Greek views for me:
1. Arriving by boat into Santorini...you've just gotta arrive by boat to capture the full grandeur of this island!
2. Arriving by boat at the monastery on Symi (on a day trip from Rhodes)
Never seen such turquoise water or been deafened by so many cicadas in this beautiful bay............very moving

For me it would have to be the mist rising up from the Golden Gate bridge one Feb morning in 2000, it was amazing .....and flying over the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam when i was a kid comes a pretty close second.
