I didn't get near enough to the sheets to be honest!

I will definitely keep my eye out for Cafe Ibiza, to be honest if I had known before we went that we were going to stay in Palolem I would have done my research. At least I know for next time.
I have just persuaded Andy to go to Palalem for a night in November so I am dead happy today
Our friends are coming from up north to spend the night with us in Cavelosim on their way to Palolem so I suggested to the OH (who hates sand) that we should go with them for 1 night and he said YES.
Only 22 days to go

Was wondering if anybody could give me some idea of how much a taxi might cost us from Candolim end of Calangute to Palolem. Just need a rough idea so that I'll know if I'm being ripped off when I enquire. Also any recommendations of nice places to eat would be great.
Thanks!
I have to say I'm really not that keen on Palolem but if you really want to go then I suggest going to the extreme South end of the beach where there is a small bay that has huts right on the shore line. It's also much quieter than the main beach section, which I have invariably found to be full of demobbed Israelies partying hard (don;t have anything against Israelies or parties, just not my idea of relaxing).
I'm sure you'll have fun but don't expect peace & quiet there.
Read somewhere on here that Palolem seemed a little quieter this year so was hoping that this was the case. We're not totally set on staying in Palolem really, just wanted a couple of nights in a beach hut on a nice beach where we could swim in the sea (this is now impossible in the North i.e. Candolim/Calangute/Baga if you don't want to risk your life!!). We also don't want it to be too quiet if you get what I mean, would kinda like a choice of places to eat etc.
When we went last year we had a look at a few other places and chose a place with a really wierd name, run by a guy called Ali. It was something like '------ thing'. Oh I can't remember!! I've just asked my daughter to text Ali and ask him. It was lovely there. We had a ground floor cocohut with an en-suite bathroom (sounds grand doesn't it!!) The food was lovely and in the evening they moved the sunbeds and put tables and chairs on the beach. It was so romantic eating by candlelight with the waves splashing just a few feet away. Deffo going back this year
Sorry.... I've rambled a bit.

We stayed in some quite nice huts right down the end by the rocks, I think it was the second shack from the end. But I can't remember what it was called. Anyone have any ideas ? They had a couple of family sized huts, with 2 bedrooms and ensuite wet rooms with loo.
Don't get me wrong, you can go off and find your own little space and maybe we've just been unlucky but for example the first thing we saw when we last got there was a bunch of de-mobbed Israeli's beating ten bells out of each other and it didn't really get much better (or calmer should I say) - not really what we wanted for our relaxing coconut hut experience. Like I said you can still go off and do your own thing though.
Personally I prefer Ashvem for the huts but it might be a bit too quiet for you. Somewhere like Rock Bites where the currents aren't so strong in the sea. The place next door to Rock Bites is nice as well but I can;t remember what it's called. I'm certainly not in any rush to go back to Palolem but it depends what you're after really.
Hi i have just read (on another site) that someone paid £20 return from calangute to palolem for a taxi.
I picked us up from Lagao Azul at about 8am, drove us to Agonda, as we wanted to have a look, then onto Pololem, stayed with us over night and drove us back about 4pm the next day.
Fantastic !!
brought back for yousillygirl
the place is amazing well worth staying there!!! we had a look at a lot of the huts and these are the best we seen on the beach...
sorry forgot to mention taxi prices vary we stayed in calengute in the osborne and the guy we where using took us down there and came back for us for £25 we gave him about £35 though... we were getting prices from £25 to £40 off different cabs but that was over new year 2 years ago!!!
