When we were there in September I noticed that the sea was full of a sort of sea grass. Not being one for 'things' in the sea I nipped in and out to cool off and that was it. It could have been this 'grassy' stuff that was being washed up?
....... if there were a load of beer cans and red wine bottles, they've probably emptied the bins at Pat42's apartment !!!
Nope it was not just sea grass and sea weed, it was rubbish - all kinds of it. Just surprising in that none of the other beaches I've been to on the Algarve have been in that state. There was still a steady trickle of people paying the 1.20 euro charge to get to the beach on the ferries so I was surprised they seem to have given up on cleaning it.
Sagres, hubby uses bottles not cans.......so they must have been washed up all the way from Lagos, or else it was Glynis and her hubby!!!!
Pat
I must admit to only seeing the sea grass on the beach. We also had bottles no cans
Ok.....Sagres, you're the guilty party....
I think lots of rubbish along with various plant material had been washed into the sea and then onto the beach (noticed lots of decaying oranges on the beach). The guy was packing away most of the sunbeds the week we were there, probably reckoned the season was finished.
