I had booked flights 8 months ago to Tenerife (with Airtours). We were to travel out on Christmas Day. I found out through the grapevine there was no flight and the airport was closed. They didn't bother to tell me. I e-mailed them - no reply. I have written them a letter of complaint a month ago - no reply.
I have been credited the deposit I paid, but it would have been nice to have been told about it. I wonder were they going to leave it until December before they told me.
MyTravel impossible flight.... elsewhere in this forum!
Interesting that they have credited your deposit rather than try and rearrange the entire holiday. I wonder what their attitude will be towards those who booked flight only.
If you were going with Airtours I presume it was a MyTravel flight. Not the first time this year they've advertised flights from a closed airport.
