Arrived back late last night after 7 great days.
We booked allocation on arrival, £238 for 2 adults flying from Manchester. Arrived on time at Palma (2hr 5 min flight), and after finding the rep was dissapointed to find that we were not booked on the transfer coach - booked with holiday hyper market, confirmation with First Choice, tickets with Cosmos, so we need to look in to who has made an error (could be me ?...) Anyway, no arguments, and found we were in Cala Egos which is 10 mins away from Cala D'or.
Jumped a taxi (£49) and arrived at Club Marthas - very impressed ! The apartment we were given was damp and smelt foisty, this we think was due to the palm trees covering the entire balcony,giving no heat,sunlight or view - very poor.
We were moved within 2 days after explaining this to reception - no arguments from them so all happy.
Our new apartment was excellent more modern, larger balcony great pool views and no damp.
It seemed quite busy for the time of year at the complex which was an excellent set-up.
Cala Egos is very small but nice with everything for someone. A small beach with around 100 sunbeds (could imagine this in summer as being well over crowded).
No dissapointment from the restaurants around the resort - all good.
Cala D'or is only a 10 min walk via the marina which is also very good for restaurants and bars for day/evening (would prefer to stay here).
My only gripe with Spain now is the Euro,which doesn't seem to go very far - the British bars being the biggest rip-offs ever (5.70€ for a pint 'n' half) - pathetic. Even the British paper shop had to add 30 cents on to the price of the news paper (Spanish shops didn't).
Weather - well one bad day of rain and thunder (Wednesday) all the others hot/sunny, night time you could still enjoy shorts and t-shirts.
So... a great time and a relaxing break, nice to be home - NO !!
