I've booked three holidays with Travel Republic and found them great on prices, email vouchers and booking transfers etc. Where they fall apart completely in my opinion, is the dishonest way in which they chose to display their reviews (or don't as the case may be).
After our first trip we posted a very pleasing 4/5 review about our hotel/holiday and it's there for all to see. Recently we posted two reviews (separate bookings) on our hotel/holiday in Albufeira and there's nothing there even after repeated attempts over the last month. I know they have them as when I've tried to repost them it tells me I can't as I have already completed my review. They weren't damning reviews just honest information for people to take into consideration when choosing their hotel or location.
I've since found out that a couple on honeymoon and a young family that we met in the hotel have had the same thing happen to their reviews. Is this just because TR are only interested in taking peoples money and not in helping them make the right choice. The family for example would still have booked through TR at a different hotel that had facilities for their daughter ie a children's section of the pool, a games room ( no one found it at this hotel) less noise. The couple would have still used TR and if they had been able to read all the reviews that are obviously not being shown, would have been able to better select the tranquility they were looking for whilst still being close to town instead of hen parties banging on their door at 4am shouting obcenities!
What really peeves me is taking the time to honestly respond to a request to write a review then it being discarded as it obviously doesn't suit them. This isn't an honest or responsible way to operate and surely must lead to other dissatisfied customers not getting what they expect due to deceptive marketing.
