My husband booked a long weekend for the two of us for my birthday to Puerto Rico in the Canary Islands. When booking we also booked airport parking with Thomas Cook. It was a last mintue deal, only booked 4 days before we travelled, so we only picked up the tickets at the airport.
We thought we had got the best deal ever, we were flying out from Liverpool airport and there were only 11 of us on the flight so the service we had was amazing. We we arrived, we were stunned by the accomodation and the location. It was only when we were checking our pick up details the day before coming home that we couldn't see a flight to Liverpool. When we asked the rep, she said that there was no flight to Liverpool the day we were going home. She was very unhelpful and said that we should check our tickets. On checking our tickets we found out that we were flying back to Manchester!!!!! We rang the numbers they give you and an extreemely unhelpful man told us just to be there for the Manchester airport pick up, there was no apology - nothing.
We were there for the pick up, the coach turned up late and they did not have us on the list for us to be picked up. We were lucky as one couple hadn't turned up to be picked up - if they had there would have been no room on the coach for us!!!!
We were delayed by 4 hours, finally arrived back to Manchester at 4 in the morning, at which time my Dad had to pick us up to take us to Liverpool airport to pick our car up and then we all had to drive home!!!!!
We went into the shop which we booked it in and the agent which we booked with said that it was our responsiblity to check all destinations, not the hers. It made it worse that we had even booked parking - so it must have registered that we wouldn't be arriving back at the same airport!!!!!!
Please, everyone, just be careful when booking as it seems that they can send you back to anywhere!!!
Hi the travel agent should have told you this at the time of booking, as usually flights returning to a different airport would flash on the screen to warn the travel agent about this.
However, when I book anything I always read and re-read the confirmation invoice just in case of human error, which this seems to be.

I think the travel agent could have been alot sharper in your case....surely they should have pick up on this...?
Oh I think there is no doubt about it, the agent made a mistake, but I am sure it will conveniently be in the small print somewhere that the customer should check all details.

Erm I thought she was acting as your travel AGENT!! Mind you I think I always nosey at my flight tickets incase of a mistake in the name etc so might have spotted the manchester code.
It's a good job you weren't on our last cheap deal which was out of Aberdeen and back to Stanstead! Now that would have been a nightmare if you hadn't been aware of the return airport!!
