It's a shame about the AI upgrade finishing. I was looking at the price for a couple of our friends this morning and i noticed the change.
Have u booked for the carribean gems on 5th April? That is the one we are going on
Local Thomson shop couldn't even come close to matching internet prices and shop manager said they would be losing money if they tried.....but still haven't quite decided yet Wish Ocean Village would get a move on and get their brochure out so I can compare.
we got them to match the internet price
this time next yr we will be on our cruise !
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong. Went onto the Thomson Cruise website to check out their Caribbean cruises but can only see details of Mediterranean ones.
I've just tried it too and getting the same, only the Med and Canary Islands. I also tried
If you put Dec 2008 in and Destiny ship it comes up... well it does on mine. Dont think they start till then ... Good luck
Thanks Laine. I was searching for March and April this year, which is obviously too early for these itineraries. Bit down today as this day last year we were flying to Puerto Rico to get on the Crown Princess for a couple of weeks round the caribbean. Need something to cheer me up!
Last year we booked with Thomson for a cruise to the Far East for our 25th Anniversary and they cancelled it! We decided to give them another chance and went to a cruise fair on Sunday. We were told that by attending we would get another 6% off any booking. On Sunday they were offering free AI upgrades and no flight supplements, as per the brochure. We tried to book it today and surprise surprise no AI upgrades left, they are charging flight supplements and even the basic price has increased! So even with our discount they quoted us a few hundred MORE than the brochure!!! Needless to say we won't be bothering with Thomson again!! Really annoying that they are allowed to get away with this! If they couldn't match the brochure price they should have said so on Sunday!! They even tried to tell us that to get the discount we had to book it in the high street shop on the same day, however this would have been closed by the time we left the fair! After arguing this point they finally accepted what I was saying and offered the discount but by this point I'd had enough! Off to find a more reputable firm to book with!!
lve booked thomsons transatlantic crossing for april 2009 carribean then med on the destiny . would be interested to hear how it goes this year as Im getting some mixed reports on thomson cruises in general from various websites
Thomson Cruises makes Caribbean return
Thomson Cruises is making a return to the Caribbean for winter 2008-09.
Thomson Destiny will make two transatlantic cruises - Tropical Transatlantic and Transatlantic Sunrise - and two seven-night cruises, Coral Islands and Caribbean Gems.
The Tropical Transatlantic cruise is a 14-day itinerary that sees passengers fly to Lisbon to board the ship for a five-day Atlantic crossing to the Dominican Republic, where a seven night Coral Islands or Caribbean Gems itinerary starts. Passengers fly home to the UK from La Romana in the Dominican Republic.
The Transatlantic Sunrise 18-night itinerary starts with a flight to the Dominican Republic, before the Thomson Destiny sails first for seven nights on either the Coral Islands or Caribbean Gems itinerary before crossing the Atlantic from Barbados, taking in Gibraltar, Cartagena, Valencia and Barcelona, Spain before finally arriving back in Palma, Majorca.
The seven night Coral Islands cruise sails from La Romana to St Lucia, taking in Barbados, Guadeloupe, St Kitts and Tortola. The Caribbean Gems cruise sails to Grenada, Dominica, Antigua, St Maarten and Tortola.
The operator's Caribbean cruise programme features a new entertainment programme ‘A New Wave of Entertainment on the high Seas' with jazz and Dixieland band performances, Latin dancing classes and West End-style shows.
The lead-in for 14 nights on the Tropical Transatlantic is £999 per person on December 7 with flights from five UK airports taking customers to the port of departure. The price includes return flights, full board, tips, port taxes and charges and fuel supplements.
The Transatlantic Sunrise 18-night itinerary costs £1,399 per person departing on April 18, 2009 with flights from five UK airports, including return flights, full board, tips, port taxes and charges and fuel supplements. Flights are to La Romana and return from La Palma.

Hi Rachie B
have you packed yet ? lol
have you heard / received anything about excursions ?!i thought we would be able to pre book but ive not heard anything ?
xx
Thomson don't let passengers pre book the excursions, so we will have to wait until we get there. I can list all the excursions and prices on here when I get back (if someone else doesn't do it before me).
